ICON Week 2024
ICON week is taking place 23rd – 27th September 2024 and is all about helping people who care for babies cope with crying. The week aims to raise awareness about infant crying and how to manage it, supporting caregivers and preventing injuries caused by Abusive Head Trauma, often resulting from shaking a baby.
This year’s ICON Week focuses on sharing ideas and best practices. Friends and relatives play a crucial role in supporting parents and carers during the challenging times when a baby is crying. Research suggests that some lose control when a baby’s crying becomes too much. Some go on to shake a baby with devastating consequences. ICON focused on providing a simple message that supports parents/ caregivers to cope with an infant crying.
