Think Family, Think Relationships
What is a Think Family approach?
Warrington Safeguarding Partnership and Warrington Adults Board recognise that in order to safeguard vulnerable adults and children we have to support families to make changes that are helpful and long lasting and we need to work with all the members of the family.
If we understand and recognise that the needs and desired outcomes of each person in the family affect each other, we are more likely to support and enable sustainable change.
This will require us all to work differently, but with the same aim of working with families to achieve their outcomes. We believe that this document will help inform and create a common approach across all agencies, across adult and children services.
This approach has been developed on behalf of Warrington Safeguarding Partnership and Warrington Adults Board in response to a number of learning reviews where opportunities were missed to consider the needs of all members of a family and the impact each person was having on another.
It is vital that the Think Family, Think Safeguarding, Think Relationships model is embedded across all agencies working with vulnerable adults and children. This approach should be embedded into all other strategies as an overarching model of good practice.
